Officials

The Head Official for MT-USAW is Blake Love. Blake lives in Missoula and has been involved in wrestling for many years. He has two sons, Andy and Jake, who are very accomplished wrestlers. His wife Kathy, and daughter, are both avid supporters of wrestling and you will see them at Blake's side at most wrestling events.

Per MT-USAW Standing Rules, "In an effort to standardize officiating, state-wide, MT-USAW encourages mat officials and pairers to participate in the clinic which is given following the MHSA State Tournament in Billings each year." At this clinic, Blake hands out information that is used as a reference guide by coaches and officials through the year. All are encouraged to refer to it.

This is the clinic that coaches and officials receive an "attendance card" annually. Not to be confused with the Bronze Clinic certification. Per the MT-USAW Standing Rules: Coaches and Officials must attend a qualified officials rules clinic to coach at a state tournament.
